EBREL Gerald Lawson Tournament Highlights: A Day of Triumphs and Surprises!

This past Saturday, the EBREL Esports Arena at PDC buzzed with excitement as students from East Baton Rouge Parish Schools battled it out in an electrifying esports tournament. From the joy of exploring the new venue to the fierce competition on the screens, it was a day to remember for the local esports’ community.

Rocket League took center stage with some thrilling matches. Tara High School emerged victorious, taking down Baton Rouge High. In a stunning upset, Southeast Middle School, who had faced challenges in recent tournaments, pulled off a remarkable win against the dominant Scotlandville Pre-Engineering Academy. The elementary division saw Capitol Elementary claim victory over the skilled Villa del Rey 5th grade team.

The Smash Bros. tournament crowned William Daniels as its champion, earning him a coveted spot in the April 13th championship match. Meanwhile, Madden legend Kameron Kelly, the reigning 2022-2023 champion, continued his dominance with a decisive 45-13 victory.

This exciting event showcased the passion and talent of young gamers in the East Baton Rouge Parish.
